Default Difference of 17's and 18's

Okie dokie... so I'm thinking about getting 18's fer my xb. I was talking to my good old buddie and he said my car would be a lot easier to take care of if I had 17's (as in replacing tired and lowering my automobile). I dunno how 17's look on an xb cuz I haven't seen any, so if anyone has pictures of 17's and 18's on xb's post them up yea?? Thanx a bunch!

there are plenty of people who post their pics of 17's and 18's on their xB's. Just search the forum for 17" and 18" and you should find quite a bit.

Here's mine: 17 x 7" Konig Unknown 40 offset with 215/40/17 Toyo Proxy 4 tires and a 2" Gold-Line drop:

I love the way it looks and rides...

When deciding about 17's or 18's you should keep a couple of things in mind. Cost, and ride. 18's are a little bit more $$$. But not to bad. The one thing to keep in mind is if you blow out your tire and need to pick up one somewhere fast. They might not have it in and it will cost you a lot more because of the situation your in, unless your near a familiar area. I did the calcuations about the height of 17's with a 205/40/17 and 18's with a 215/35/18 and found out that 18's around only a tenth of a inch taller than the stock 185/60/15. 17's are close to a 1/2 inch shorter than stock. I would keep that in mind too. 18's do ride a little more stiff because of the stiffer sidewall, but just do research on which tires ride the best. You get what you pay for and you pay for what you get.

My 18's mounted yesterday. The ride ride took a hit, but nothing I can't live with.
From what I hear the TRD springs/struts will improve the ride. Should be here soon.
Price difference when all was said and done was about $120 from the 17's.

Here's my 17's on GoldLines - 2 inch drop...

Here's why you want as much tire as possible, IMO:
