THE RIDE W/ 17"s
depends on the weight of the 17s. In most cases, they will be heavier, making for lower average mpg than 15s.
this drop in mpg will be most significant in city driving traffic or stop/go traffic

i got some used 17" off a guy and they had 205/40ZR17 tires on them. i want Pirelli P-Nero Zero M+S, but theyre not in a 205, just 215. whats teh difference? Also if the 17's were lighter would it be better MPG?

And to answer your second question, no. You would still get less MPG since your tires are wider and stickier.
