Default Winter time tires...

Okay, I know it's the wrong time of the year to be asking, but what do you guys do in the winter for tires?

I was thinking of getting a cheap pair of 15"s and putting snow tires on the winter....any of you do that this past winter?

Getting 15 inch tires would be a good idea because this will allow you to use skinnier tires instead of the stock 215.

yeah snow tires is the last thing i want to be thinking about.. sick of that already! michigan has had ENOUGH snow and ice.. sheesh..

but snow tires? back in november/december we had this discussion.. bridgestone blizzaks came up.. there was another brand people spoke highly of but i could never find them.. nokian i think.. who knows where they got them.. but more mainstream would be the blizzaks.. pirelli made a decent one too.. the michelin alpin pa2 I was looking at didn't seem to be that good as the blizzaks.. the ones i was looking at were a "highway snow tire" in other words, was good on dry as well as snow, instead of true snow tires that can wear quickly if driven on dry for too long..

hope that helps..

Bridgestone Blizzaks. Ive owned three pairs.
On my TC I bought a 15" steel wheel package from Tirerack.com.
They come prebalanced and everything. Just jack it up and install the wheels.

Overall the handling is great and with front wheel drive in winter its close to 4x4.

I got the same package from Tire Rack last winter. Handling was great. Well worth it.
