Ok, I was looking for lowering springs and I noticed that I can go with either the Tein H tech or the S tech springs. The S tech are lower than the H tech but I was wondering can I lower my car 1.7 in the front and 1.5 in the rear with 18 inch wheels?

Any info would help.

 

Of course you can. Most people run 215/35/18 with an 18" rim, but if you want to cut down on the fender gap some more then go with a 215/40/18.

Which tires? My buddy has that tire size also and rubs a little in the front when he turns the wheel.

 

Cool, I figured as much. I just wanted to double check and see if anyone had this combo already and I dont want any rubbing clearance issues.

With TEIN springs and being lowered in general, most will prolly rub at full lock. I know I did w/ the Spy springs, and do now w/ the Wagon coilovers.

 

Now here is a question for ya... Do you think I will have any problems with that drop when I get my Fab kit?

no rubbing at all...

if you get too high of an offset you will rub the inside at full lock...

Yes... That is an xA on S-Tech's on 18's...

 

Well here are the wheels I am getting:



They have a 38mm offset and are 18x7.5.

38mm wont rub the fender thats for sure...

3mm further in depending on the tire size you get wont rub but it will get close...

The wheels on my girls xA (pictured) are 35mm offset...

You could run a much lower offset on the xA / xB but unfortunatly with the 4x100 bolt pattern there isnt much available :-/

 

That fitment will fit on a drop up to at least 2.5 inches.

I know an xA on 19s w/ S-techs and it sits and fits nicely.

 

Well I placed my order for the wheels, tires, and S-Techs. I just had a question about the springs. How come the S-techs cost less than the H-techs but have a lower drop? Are the H-techs better springs?

I should have it all in a few more days.

 

where did you order your wheels from?

 

I got 18's 18x7.5 with 42mm offset on Tein S and I don't rub. Even loaded down with 6 50 pound bags of water softener salt, my big butt, my wife and some other costco stuff and still didn't rub.
