Hey RageStevens, I am really liking your set up! Looks great.
Russell, I love the look of S-techs, but don't want to go to low. I have ordered H-techs already and should be getting them by friday. I wanted to keep a conservative lowering stance due to the harsh winters and awful roads here in Mass.

I have been reading the forums on all the different types of springs and what the traits are of the various ones available and decided to go with H-techs for a mild drop and smoother ride. One misconception I had for the longest time was that everyone seemed to say the springs they decided to install on thier vehicle ride "better then stock", but what i didn't realize was that "better then stock" is completely subjective. Some like a stiffer ride for better cornering and less body roll and others don't mind a little more body roll in the name of comfort. It seemed like everyone was getting a "better then stock" ride. If I truely felt like I could get away with a lower stance, believe me.... I would go for it. The look is amazing, I love it, but non the less........

H-techs are in the mail and would love to check out more pix if anyone has them.

Thanks,
Matt

Man, I wish you guys were in Mass. My buddy was going to hook me up, he is a mechanic, but he injured his back recently. He will be ok, but needs time to recover. My springs should be in today.... and....you know... the whole impatients thing is kicking in. I called a couple shops in the area and they are both charging around 200.00!!!

Hey Special Sauce do you ever hear a ticking noise from your beauty rings?? I bought some about 2 months ago from Checker Auto parts and I love the looks of them on my steelies but mine seem to make a ticking sound when the wheel starts rolling and it drives me nuts. I was just wondering if you are having that problem with that brand of bueaty rings.

hahaha... i thought i was going crazy tring to find out what that sound was... maybe that's it!

i only hear that ticking sound when i'm driving next to a wall or whenever the sound can bounce back to my ears, but i can't hear it otherwise with the windows down.

it's there, but it's subtle. only driving me crazy cause i couldn't find out where that sound was coming from.

how would the rings be making that ticking sound your talking about. I was actually going to purchase some of these rings for the winter, but if they are going to annoy me then I can do without.

Yea it took me a little while to figure out what it really was. then one day I decided to push on the beauty ring and it made that same tick sound, so I then though, let me take them off and see if it still makes that noise. Took them off and the ticking was gone. I was relieved that was all it was but It is annoying. So anyway now I sometimes roll with just the steelies and not beauty rings unless I am going to meet up with a bunch of people with scions. The beauty rims were just a temporary thing for me until I find some 18's that I like and have the extra money for rims.

It is the way that the ring is mounted to the rim. It has a bunch of what I call clips (metal bent in a way that it snaps to the rim) and well when the wheel turns I beleive the ring flex's a little bit and from that flexing the metal makes a little ticking sound. I don't know if it is just because the ones I got were just a cheap beauty ring or if it was just some cheap metal that they were using for the rings.

I've gotten a lot of comments that people love the beauty rings on the box.
