Default Wheels and tires for the track.

I'm looking to start tracking my tC, and I'm not interested in running my street wheels and tires on the track. I need suggestions on a good set of wheels and tires for track use. Some people have told me to hit the local junkyard and buy reasonably sized steel wheels off of any car that will fit... that way they'll be cheap. What kind of tires would you guys suggest me going with, and also, are there any affordable good racing wheels out there?? I'm not interested in looks at all...

i had a test drive session with BF goodrich Comp TA KD around some cones in NJ. I was driving a 350Z. these tires were bald and compared to the nitto 555 (ithink) they stuck like velcro.

hope it helps a bit. keep an eye out at the newsstands for a issue where they reviev "R" compound tires. theyll tell you the tiretemp rating and other good stuff you need to know

good luck and get that rear wheel up in the air. thats my favorate part of auto X
