Does anyone know the material(s) that the stock rims are made of or coated with? I want to put some rim cleaner on them....if it's painted...I want to make sure I don't ___ them up with some kind of chrome polish....

 

Probably just a plain clear coat. You're better off putting a layer of carnuba wax on your wheel every few months. Brake dust and debris will slide right off with a hose and towel.

I'm pretty sure the stock rims are just simply diecast or drop forged steel, I've used wheel cleaner on em plenty of times and they look no different...good idea on the was as well, I will definately try that!

The standard (from the factory) wheels on the TC are 17" Aluminium alloy. As mentioned, probably just polished and clearcoated. Wax is your best friend :-)
