Default New xB Owner - Wheel Question

Hi all. I bought a 06 TC Scion xB last week and I had a quick question. (its not in yet).

Going into the dealer I was thinking I would buy 18 inch MR7 Motegi Ultra Black rims and have then lowered 1.5" or so w/ Tenzo springs. Dealer price of about $2.1k sourced out through the best wheel shop in town.

The sales person showed me his car w/ 17's and I thought they looked pretty good. He quoted me $1100 for the 17 MR7s and didn't think they needed to be lowered because of the smaller size vs. the 18s which he said he really thought should be lowered.

I like the lowered look and the larger rims, but I'm not sure its worth the extra ~$1K.

I really don't wanna get too much above $16K for the total package and was also considering doing the Katzkin leather seats for ~$1K.

I'm not usually one to agonize over these types of decisions, but for some reason I'm struggling w/ this. I'd hate to get 17's on my car and not be happy, etc.

Any thoughts are welcome. All prices included tires and/or install.

I originally wanted 18's. However, I ended up getting 17's, Konig Unknowns with a 215/40/17 and dropped it 2" with Gold-Line Springs. I have not regreted getting 18's and love the way the 17's ride. Here is a pic to help you see what it would look like with 17's and dropped 2"

Yelosub. Thanks! Those wheels look just the right size!

I'll go w/ the 17's AND maybe lower them later

That's a nice set of rims. I like the drop.

Damn that looks good. Nice rim choice and perfect drop. I too am thinking of getting spacers for the rear to make them sit more flush to the outside fender.
