I just bought my Xb last night : LOve the box hate the ride ; I bought it from a private part who bought from a dealer ; The dealer added rims and tires I hate the ride ; The dealer told me they used goldline springs and the rims are Primax Tires are 215 /35R18/80 it rides ok on smooth roads : its like a rattle trap on bumps whats my problem how can i fix it ???????????? Like the dealer said, lowering springs are the way to go. Also, smaller wheels (15 or 16") will give you more rubber and still the same overall diameter as those big 18s you have.

 

Actually I think he already has lowering springs with the 18" wheels. Best way to smooth it out is switch back to the 15s and get the stock springs back on. I would try the springs first and see if that helps. Won't look as nice but it will probably ride better on the bumps.

 

Whoops, I missed that part, I thought they recommended Goldlines. Since most people say they are softer than stock, stick with them, but try some 15s.

No matter what you do, the xB will never ride like a Caddy.

 

yeah goldlines are pretty much the softest ride. i guess get rid of the 18's

 

You could remove the 18's adn go with 17's and a taller tire. It is the short sidewall that makes the ride more jarring. Basically less sidewall mean less flex. Less flex stiffer ride.

I like my 18's with 35's...

 

Someone on this forum mentioned that the shock are 60% stiffer on the xB for handling so maybe replacing the rear shocks is a good/cheap start.

 

i say use the hks coilovers they feel really good

 

Trade them with somebody for stock

the ride quality difference between stock and aftermarket springs in minimal. its the low profile tires that is giving you the nasty ride you speak of. go with a smaller wheel and a larger profile such as a 50 series.

 

I agree with him 100% percent..u will feel the difference with a much smaller tire..
