Default Correct PSI for xB?

I am confused the tire says max preesure 44 PSI. What is the best PSI for the tire?
The dealership had it at 25 PSI and the tires look really low.

Thanks.

Default Two places to look. . .

The first one is in the owners manual. The other is easier. Open the driver's door and look at the body or on the door itself. You should see two stickers one has a picture of a tire on it. If you ever forget the tire pressure look there. If I remember correctly, if you are running stock steel rims the tire pressure is 29 PSI front and back. Hope that helps.

I can confirm, the correct tire pressures for the O.E. tire size (185/60R15) on the xB is 29 PSI front 29 PSI rear.

This question comes up on every car known to man, from every internet forum, magazine FAQ to the Car Talk radio show. The Max PSI on the tire is exactly that max for that tire with no regard for the car it's on. The PSI that is correct is always listed on the door frame of the driver’s door. This is the PSI that matched the cars suspension characteristics. ALWAYS go by what is on the car itself and never by the tire!

What's everybody running in their larger tires, like 16", 17", etc...? Is it the same pressure or is there another rule of thumb for upsizing?

Never, never, never go by the pressures on the sidewall of a tire. your just asking for premature wear abd bad handeling.

the "usual" spots to check for tire pressures are on the drivers door jam and the owners manual

correct "cold" pressure, cold meaning tires are not have been drivin on is 29 psi front 29 psi rear.

check tires at least once a week. they tend to gain and loose 1 or 2 psi every day, depending on your driving characteristics and car location.

per every 10 degrees farenheight (sp?) youll loose 1 PSI (when it gets cold) or gain 1 PSI (when weather or road conditions are hot)

i rotate my tires every other oil change. youll get the max life out of them that way.

i made it to 42,000 on my factory tires. on my 2nd set of tires now
