I recently purchased my 225/40YR18 GOODYEAR EAGLE F1 GS-D3 TIRES and they are GREAT! They are very aggressive looking, handle amazing in wet conditions and i have yet to make them slip on dry pavement.
* #1 Rated Max Performance Summer Tire on Tirerack.com *
* #1 Rated Performance Tire by Car & Driver - December 2005 Edition *
Price on Tire Rack used to be $175 and was recently lowered to $155 so i snatched them up with my new wheels.

No close-ups of the tire yet, sorry..

I recently had a set of Kumho Ecsta ASX s put on my car. I like them quite a bit--good traction in wet and dry (they're all seasons if that's what you need)...pretty grippy overall. They handle quite well, except that the sidewalls are a little softer than what I was used to w/ the Potenzas. They still corner really well, but it feels like there's slightly more body lean and steering response is a hair slower. For the price they're great though...
I have always used Toyo or Kuhmo tires and there are great selections from both companies I would consider over most Goodyear or BFG tire. Toyo's and Kuhmo's are usually much less than Goodyear and BFG as well.
I just got 2 Eagle F1 GS-D3's (215/45/17) put on the front of my tC and they are so sweet I can't even describe the feeling. The turn in response is so much better, the grip is just plain phenomenal- I won't buy anything else except these from now on! Just need to get over the beginning of the semester to buy 2 for the back, books & parking are killer @ Ga State
PS I ordered from walmart.com they ship free to a walmart of your choice but apparently walmart can't put them on bc of our "custom" rims so I just got them put on @ Dekalb Tire
I paid $149.28 for each tire + $50 installation (both)

I just put 4 BFG g-force kdw-new tread's on my car in december. Haven't slipped once yet and i have to admit i'm a pretty aggressive driver. They're amazing in the rain, they scored the highest g-rating tire rack's ever recorded in the dry (1.08 g on a tuner Evo), they're sweet all around. They cost $125 each off tire rack for the stock 17" rims, and they look amazing. Its no wonder why they were put on the 5-axis xB. Tires are the last part of the car you would expect someone to tell you that it looks good....yet I've gotten more compliments on my tires than i've ever dreamed of. Cheap price, sweet looks, amazing performance, get the kdw's man.
Yea those are the KDS2's, they're a little bit noisy between 35-40 mph. You'll be able to tell a noise difference compared to the stock 17's whenever you're driving. But after the first day you never notice it again. If you do, you've got some ultra-sensitive ears, and in that case crank up the music. I've had them since early December, had a ton of rainy days here in Cincy. Haven't even come close to slipping yet. They're worth every penny. I bought the tires and had them mounted, balanced, etc for $145 each. The dealership's even honoring the tire warranty I bought for the original tires. You can't do any better than g-Forces...
