Default Correct offset for Enkei CDR9 15x7 on 2006 xB?

I recently replaced the stock wheels on my 2006 xB with Enkei CDR9 15x7 wheels with Kumho Ecsta ASX 205/55/15. I was told by the tire shop that the Enkei wheels have an offset of +40. Since the stock wheels have an offset of +38, I was told that no spacers are needed. What is the preferred offset for front and rear for the wheels that I have? I have read that some people go as much as +25. I am looking for a sporty look that gives me better ride and handling.

Thank you.

A +40 offset will work, however they will not be even remotely close to flush fitting. If this does not bother you, then they will be fine. I would, however, suggest a One Ton Garage rear spacer shim to give the rear wheels a more flush appearance as the rear wheels sit futher in the wheel wells on a stock xB.
