To Drop or not to Drop, that is my question
DROP!
PROS:Better handling, lower center of grav. Smoother ride, IMO, easier to wash the roof. Looks
, Draws attention
CONS: Draws attention. possibly more rock chips, etc, especially on lower skirting. (My skirtings scrape slightly on my driveway - personal issue - doesn't happen in most driveways, mine is steeply angled. Angling out usually is OK.)
There are several makers of lowering springs. If you don't have a personal preference, research the forums, they have debated most aspects at least once.
I got the Goldlines. Great springs at a great price. Talk to Bill (scionspecialistvegas) for a great deal:

Got mine put on by Gabe at Precisionmuffler.com. If you're in the Bay Area, he's the guy to put them on.
Springs and install cost me $210.00 Can't beat that for a 2" drop
I'm sure there's some pros and cons I forgot, but I'm sure someone will pick up the slack... :D

i second the goldline recommendation. better ride than stock, 2" lower, and much better handling than stock. it might be hard to believe, but trust me, it's true.
i honestly don't know why you wouldn't lower a scion, to be honest. it's cheap, it looks good, and improves ride and handling. and 2" isn't so low that you're going to be scraping everywhere either. that's my opinion on the matter.

I say do the drop. Only thing I would be concerned with is if your roads are really bad and there would be a lot of scraping.
I wish I could get the goldlines and the install for $210.00. I called some place today and they were telling a figure of over $200.00 for just the install. I think I might have to try and do it myself for that price.

ditto on the goldline suggestion.

scroll thru some of those pics and see the comparison between my unlowered xb and kinglous with goldlines. and believe it or not thats at bill's(scionspecialist) house.
if the comparison between our two cars (still on stock wheels) doesn't sell you on springs then nothing else will. Im lowered now with 17" wheels and honestly the ride didnt get harsh until i switched to 17's i think 16's might be the ultimate way to go for perfromance and comfort.
Oh and the only time ive ever scraped is coming out of a gas station in california on the way to exposed. here at home in las vegas there are TERRIBLE roads since most of them are under construction on a regular basis and ive taken nasty stuff (unintentionally) at speed with no scraping issue.
rock chip are going to be an issue regardless of what you do so i wouldn't consider that muc of a factor.

I say drop... after the drop she becomes a different animal. I can't give you too much details on the handling difference.. but I do feel more stable. I only had my box dropped a few days ago.. and the difference is very noticeable... other than the aggressive look (of course).
Of course, like any lowered vehicle you have to pay more attention to bumps and dips. But not as bad as when you lower a normal compact car (i.e. civic, accord, etc). I don't have to do the angle-approach to dips and bumps... just go a little slower (just in case). A lowered box makes you more cautious of the parking lot stoppers and curbs. The short nose and tail really help at those driveway approaches too!
Unless you really drop it to the ground... then that's a different story. :?

Scionetics?
As for the topic.....man I thought you were talking about Ectasy.
Aside from the Goldlines, what do people think of the Teins? I've been considering the h-tech because I've herad they do a great job smoothing out the ride (Denver roads blow!)
Am I nust, should I go with the s-techs or jump on the Goldline wave?
