Default A question for you who have bbist hoods?

I ordered the dual vented bbist hood and was wondering if i need hood pins, yes i have searched but no one has given a specific answer to just bbist hoods, i talked to nilo and he siad you dont need them. I was wondering if anyone else had these hoods and what there experiances where. i also conntacted steven@bbist and he told me nothing but talk to seller. So ya yes or no on hood pins for a bbist hood, and if yes where can i get some good ones that dont rust. Thanks

the one i have now is a cheap ebay OEM style CF hood and it bounces due to slack in the latch but it is latched still and has never come unlatched until i manually unlatched it. i would not put hood pins on the hood that you are getting... it is way too nice and expensive... if any hood out there would be fine without hood pins it would be that one

For a little loss astheticly and $20 worth of product, get hood pins. Everyone will say you dont need them, but who knows! Ive seen pics of many cars whose carbon fiber hood glue seperated from fiberglass center/backing and the carbon fiber flies back up and hits windshield. That is not cool. I know Steve makes an awesome product, who knows if the glue for that one hood is bad, or if the weather turns out just right to soften the glue as you're doing 85 on the interstate .

I think its a safety issue having a CF hood and would strongly recommend hood pins, no matter how good the seller. Just my noob .02 in action here.

yo man dont worry about the pins. . ive ran mine for months and no problems. the only thing i had to do was turn up the bump-stops so that it fit tighter. . .any more questions just ask me.oh and about the pins, its all personal preference. the hood is very very light but i didnt see drilling into a 500 hood, i dotn even have squirters anymore
