xb pic w/megan springs anyone?
ok, friday is the day i put it all in (if i get the stupid koni's by then, i orderd through tire rack 3 days ago and they are in the next state. wtf? ebay ships faster than that!) im just impatient, i want to put them in. progress would be great too, i have em on my del sol but the spring rate is highest for megans on the xb. that's why i chose it and spent the dough for koni adjustables too. i almost got the teins but remember when i had them on the del sol, they werent any better than my progress/tokico illumina setup and i didnt feel it worth the money. i switched back to the progress/tokico illuminas and sold the teins. i love tein but was so dissappointed in the flex kit... anyway, pics coming friday night sirs.
okay i just realized the shocks are here, freakin UPS threw it over my patio fence and into my waterfall. IDIOTS! at least the parts are water proof. the sway bar and strut bar are due today or tomorrow. i read someone's post about how konis keep the car down and not up and they werent kidding. the shock goes down fairly easy but stiff as heck to pull back up. not sure i like that but we'll see. fronts only are here. shiz i just realized i didnt order the rear. oh well i'll order them and put these in anyway...
okay almost done with the install. the front konis, springs, camber kit, rear otg spacers, 1/4" rear spacers also and front strut bar are on. i'm doing the rear shocks, springs, progress bar and front energy end links in an hour. i need to eat and have the pics up soon. looks pretty low already, less than a finger gap in front from stock tire to fender...
-did anyone know that the front '06 shocks are tokico and rear are kyb? dang i never would have gotten the koni's if i did but oh well. i checked my wifes '06 xb and it is the same...

maybe it's only the '06 or something that has them. the wife's is the same i just double checked...
anyway here are the pics;

sorry couldnt get the whole car (front and back) in one shot since it was dark by now and my digital camera's flash sux butt.. anyway here they are with the items i mentioned above. front sits just barely lower than the back because i cut 1/4 coil up front. i have a sub coming for the back and so i put my dumbell weights back there to mock up the like weight and it then sits even.
btw, on the koni's... wholly shnazers they are SUPER DUPER stiff in front at full setting. the car bounced all over the place since i got the megan racing springs (the stiffest i know of) and koni's. the stiffness of the springs pushes the car up but the shocks are so stiff they wont let it so it bounces like a ****. for those of you that dont know, koni's allow the car to move downward at a medium level and then hold the car there stiffly. this is unlike most shocks that hold the car up and down at similar pressure. i have set it to the lowest setting until the springs break in and then i will crank them up. great setup, the car rides VERY smooth at lowest setting. i know we have all heard the progress bar and all rear sway bars now available are just stiffeners.. well whatever it is, it works great. not a track car by far but i tried it before the bar and after the bar (since the fed ex just brought it awhile ago) and the difference is undeniable. call it what you will...
the otg rear spacers mixed with another 1/4" wheel spacer made a little difference. maybe all in my head but it isnt so quick to skid in the back. of course with the stock roll over tires, it is quick to skid either way. anyway the setup is great...
oooh, just noticed i got part of the type-r in the background there.... five lug is so jdm. i hate jdm! love those wheels though. anyway any questions feel free to ask!
