Default wheel offset on xA/how much dish is too much?

first of all hello all i am new to the scion life forum. i just bought my 2006 xa monday and after inspecting its ride height/track width i have a few questions that some people more experienced with modding these cars maybe could help with.

i am looking to eventually upgrade to larger wheels/tires, and lowerthe car(modestly) the stock 15"s with 185 series are a PERFECT winter combo in my opinion but id like something wider for dry conditions and spirited driving.

-would you go with 16"s or 17"s? im inclined towards 16"s for tire price, and ride comfort with a higher aspect ratio. but like i said im new and dont know if this is a big deal on these cars. (i was thinking a 16"x 7"-8" with 225/45/16's?)

-second. there is a huge space between the outside edge of the tire and the inside edge of the fender. what is the lowest offset/ spacer combo that one could run without risking rub on stock fenders? i am looking to lower before the new wheels, nothing major (around 2 inches) no coilovers justa solid spring/damper. so that will probably be an issue with the offset too.

thanks in advance for the help

I have 17x8.5 +25 front it sticks out 3-5mm out the fenders and 17x8.5 +20 rear with OTG Camber plates. im very happy with my setup, i just need the airrunner setup.
BTW im running the HKS compact C coilovers and its dropped 4 inches around.

youll find that not many people run 16s. most run 17-18s or just stick with 15s.

running 16x7 in front with 15 offset and 16x7.5 with 15 offset in rear. (its on an xB but i dont think its TOO different).

i love it. its pretty flush all around. im on Tanabe df210s no rubbing. (then again this is xB). i know its not exact for you, but this should give you an idea.

yea. def helps. guys. might not be a wheel forum question but when do you need camber correction during lowering? just when you drop it 4" like i see a lot fo guys on here do. (not dissing it, it looks great) i hear you dont need any for the trd springs/shocks. but they arent low enough.
