Default what tire pressure does toyota recommend for the bB?

Hey so I was wondering if anyone out there knows what tire pressure I should be using for this size tire...

most places on the web I've checked says use the manufacturer's recommended tire pressure.

However, the tire I have now is a slightly different size.

Anyhow, I remember ppl saying that 185/65-R15s come OE on the bB. I was wondering does anyone know what tire pressure toyota recommended for the bB with OE tires?

You may enjoy seeing this from the xB repair manual...

Was wondering about this just today. I am still on the stock tires and wheels. Looking at the placard on the driver's side b pillar it states the same as the owner's manual, 29 psi front and rear, while if you look on the tire the max pressure is 44 psi. I can understand not running max pressure except maybe under max payload, but a 15 psi discrepancy between the car manufacturer recommendation and the tire manufacturer max pressure seems a bit much.

I know the xB isn't a NASCAR or F1 car and the tires are vastly different, but those guys are adding or removing a 1/2 pound of pressure just to make handling changes.

Anyone tried consitently running more than the recommended car manufacturer pressure, and what were the effects on handling, gas mileage, tire wear, &c.. And if so what was the pressure you were running.

Thanks for your time

No... The "Maximim Pressure" on the sidewall is not anywhere near what the tire should be run at, it is the maximun safe pressure beyond which, the tire may be damaged.

Just like the redline on your engine is 6K or so, but that does NOT mean you should run it there all the time.

That 44PSI is there more as a warning for tire installers and others to never inflate beyond that while seating beads, etc.

(I used to run tires on my Land Cruisers that had max inflation limits of 75PSI, but the normal running pressure was 30-32PSI.)

The greater the difference between the max safe pressure and the running pressure the happier I am.
