OK, who's upgraded to rims for the least bread?
Just thought I'd get an idea of the range that people have paid for rims. I've seen people upgrade to nice rims for real cheap on here. Lemme know. I need to upgrade and I wanna get off these stock steel wheels and xA wheel covers I'm rolling on. I am considering just going with the SCION 15 inch rim upgrade for $600 since it'll offer a better ride on the bumpy roads out here.

I managed to snag an inexpensive set of new 16in rims on eBay. A little heavier than I wanted, but think I can live with that since we've no speed demons. But for just a little over $200 (plus $50 shipping) it seemed reasonable.
Originally wanted 17's. But the 40 and 45 profile tires don't give you much leeway for the lousy road conditions around northern NJ. So I'm leaning toward a heavy 215/50 tire which gives me a generous 4.2 in sidewall. They're expensive and there aren't too many brands to choose from in this dimension.
If you want to save a few bucks, you can go with slightly smaller 205/50 size. The Fuzions are a good choice here. If you're on a really tight budget, you might try the Kumho Ecsta 711, but reviews on this tire are mixed. Also note that these are only summer tires. So you will have to switch back to your stock wheels in the winter.

I paid $650 for exel TZ10 w/ 205/40-17 mounted, blanced, and shipped, back in August. Of course I had my buddies at Auto Innovations spin them to make sure they were balanced properly.
Now I have Buddy Clubs shod w/ NeoGens!
