I've come to the point where I am trying to re-mount the front struts to the car. I've tightened down the top bolts very well. I can't get the lower holes on the strut to match up. I cannot replace the bolts that attach the shock assembly to the suspension, the strut bolt holes are a 1/4 inch too far down.

I did make sure that I had the top metal cup 'out' when I put the mount and the 'big nut' back on.

 

if the car is on jack stands then use the jack to lift the control arm to get the holes to match up it can be a pain in the a$$ but you just have to work it

 

when I installed my df210 it wasd easier to put the top bolt in first botthen the bottom

 

agreed....

or if the holes on the strut are lower , you have to pusth down on thr rotor or control arm and get the part with the bolt holes into the strut. then pull it towards you as you push down a little. you should be able to see the holes line up and stick in the bolt. i hope that made sense.

I used a flathead to leverage the control arm into place.

trying to use hand tools to tighten those back couple of strut brace bold is a bisuit.

 

good job. i had that same problem when i put my dfs in. i just basically rocked it back and forth till it got into position to put the bolts in.
