are white wheels worth it?
I wouldnt do white rims either on a BSP waaayyy too played out.. Do a black wheel with a chrome or polished lip that will look tight or a gun metal with a polished lip... IMO
If you have a black car......
Chrome
Black with polished lip
and silver or gold painted
The above are all great choices. If you are on a budget here are some pics of some great low-dollar wheels that would look great on a black xB.

Those are just a few good choices in a 17" wheel that I found on www.edgeracing.com

I'm with him. Get what you want. No matter what you get there will be people that wont like it. As far as white rims, i had some on my sunfire (dont laugh). When i first got them, i didnt mind cleaning them every 3-4 days, but after a month, it became a hassel.
I have white rims on my IIP xA, ( in minnesota) and Yep, they're a B to keep clean. With me, I don't try too hard in the winter, but they look great in the other seasons... You DO have to take the time to clean them when you wash... Any rims take dedication to keep looking good though.
I didn't post those pics to try and tell you what to get. Ultimately it is your decision I just know you will not be happy with the looks or the hassel involved with white wheels.
^^^ werd.
IMHO, Black and WHite are the two HARDEST color cars to keep clean, so, since you already seem to be rocking the BSP, what the hell, why not add a little more onto the pile

ok, so here's another question.
i assume the 15" steel wheels are heavy and then a set of new wheels will be lighter.
how big can I get my wheel/tire combo so the mpg tradeoff will be a wash? that is, the benefit of not having steel wheels vs the added weight in higher radii?

The stock steelies are about 17.5 lbs. just for the wheels. I think it is something like 38 lbs. for the wheel and tire combined.
If you are going for performance only, a light set of 16 will work very well. If you are wanting a lighter wheel and a little more show, go for a lightweight 17. As long as you stay on the lighter end of the spectrum you should have no problem with 17s (weight wise) at all. There are probably even a few 18" wheels out there that you could run, but they are few and far between.

I rocked 18" white rims for a year then changed over to 17" gloss black rims. white was a pain to keep clean but when they were clean they look GOOD.
but like everyone else said, get what YOU want, it's your car.

I'm getting silver rims with a polished lip for my FM xA. There are people who told me not to get black, white, silver, chrome, or red. Like Serial said, "Get what you want" and I would add get what you think will look good on your ride. It's your car man, make it yours!

white, yes PITA to keep clean, had em, powdercoated em!
black wit lip is getting a little to played out for me
i would say stick with a silver or bronze, but a gold would be killer
