Default How big can I go with my tires?

Hey I'm new on these boards. I just bought myself a phantom gray xA this month. The dealer suggested that I get the alloy wheel upgrade to Enkei 15 inch rims. But the more I look at those wheels the more I want to get bigger rims and tires. I think the stock tires are too damn narrow and small. It looks like I'm riding on spares.

So I'm planning on getting 17 inch rims but I'm not sure what size tire to get . Some sites say 205/40 17 and others say 205/45 17. I like meatier tires on my ride. I want to get 205/50 17 but I'm not sure how that's going to affect my my Scion. Is this going to mess up the suspension and the brakes? This is only half and inch bigger than the 205/40 17.

Anyone who has experience with wheels please let me know if getting 205/50 17 will screw up my car. I'm ready to buy a new set of wheels right now and almost hit the buy button at a wheel site, but I want to make sure I'm in the clear before I drop 1000 dollars. Thanks in advance.

Too large. You can get away with a 205/45/17. Or if you really want a meaty tire, get a 17X7.5 rim and a 215/45/17 wheel (though you might have a little rub at full lock).
