At the dealership we put on 18x7.5 with 215/35/18 tires with the same drop and they dont rub at all. You can actually go bigger if you wanted to...

first, you might try asking the mods to move this to the wheel & tire forum, you may get better response from the guys that frequent that section.

Second, is my two cents: I know that you go as big as 19 or 20 with some different stance setups, but with just springs, your ride becomes progressively more harsh as the sidewall goes down. I run 18s with a 35 profile tire, and i think it's just about the best of both worlds. I'm on df210s, and I don't rub; the wheels really fill the gap, imo; and the ride is a nice compromise.

Sure you can go bigger than 17's but why? 17's still have a decent amount of sidewall safety for the occasional pothole. Plus the prices are very reasonable compared to the price jump of the 18's (usually 2-300 bucks more). If you stick to 17X7 wheels with a +40 offset and use a 215/40/17 tire, you won't notice much difference between the stock 15" set-up. Also you will have zero rubbing issues with a 2" drop.
