Default any wheel by 7.5....rubbing?

Of all the wheel dealers I have gone to, they all reccomend 17x7 or 18x7 or 19x7 wheels. I was told 7.5 and up width would rub. Is this true? How about if it is lowered? Would that make it rub?

16x7 and I rub like crazy. It really doesnt have much to do with your wheel size, but rather your tire size. I have 205/55/16's on mine at it rubs at full wheel lock. I've since then cut out part of the plastic inside the wheel well and it's helped considerably. You can do a 7.5 inch width but I'd suggest finding a proper offset. For a 7.5 inch width, you'd be looking somewhere around the mid to high 30's.

Nacy went a little crazy with the fatty balloon tires! You might consider running some 195/50s next time you change out your tires...! Oh yeah, and SLAM the car down some more. :)

the offset is 15 with no spacers. I was just messing around though, I really do rub, but not that bad right now. Once i go lower it will get worse, :D but i just have my stock rims on right now.. im thinkin about getting another set of wheels soon.

you gotta update your profile so we can see the 17" wheels/tires with 2" drop.....

which are the nicest riding springs for lowering 2"? Spy's, Eibachs, Goldlines ???

I know, everyone gibs me chit about it now. But I love 'em. Well it would have been ideal at 205/50/16 but Falken doesnt make Azenis of that size. They do however make a 215/45/16 which I'm considering the next time I get tires. The main reason I don't want to go with a 195 series tire is that I *hate* the way the wheel as a whole looks when the tire is thinner than the wheel itself...it also gives me a little bit of breathing room so that I don't curb my tires.

I want to bring it down more but I'm totally afraid of more rubbing at full wheel lock. Maybe after I go through this set I'll give it a full 2 inch drop but for now I'm good.

BTW, when did you see my car?

I run 19x8 with a 40 offset as well as 19x8 with a 45 offset on both Axis Wheels that I had. The Velox ones were 19x7.5 with a 40 offset..no rubbing on those. On the Axis just very slight rubbing when I turn the wheel all the way and it RARELY rubs on me.

Just changed the wheels to some Axis 7Mods this morning.. fronts are 19x8 with a 45 offset and the rears are 19x8 with a 40 offset (3.25 Maxis Lip) and there was no rubbing on this set up.

I think it also depends on the car since Eric M was rubbing when he had his 19x8 and Toaster's same set up did not rub at all.
