your lugs are a 12x1.5 thread and would have to see the wheel before making a comment on the other

The offset of the rim is the question...I have 17 x 7 in a 40 offset with 215/40/17 and have ZERO issues...When my tires need replacing, I will be moving to the 215/45/17 tires to help fill the gap a lil' more...I don't think there are any vibration issues running a 215/45/17 tire...Have no clue about the lug issue...

Well they told me that stock lugs would go on but it wouldn't be secure. So would I need a longer lug?

Your'e probably better off getting the tuner lugz. I beleive the stock lugz are too round at the base for the best contact with tuner wheels. By the way, why 215/45/17? According to 1010tires.com the best fit are 215/40/17. Any thoughts YELOSUB?

I have had bad experiences with past wheels, with denting and what not. Living in NY the more sidewall the better.

45 is a taller tire. This gives more flex and shock absorbtion than a 40 tire so it will be more comfortable, and it will also fill the wheel well better giving it a more flush look.

There are trade offs in that your speedometer will be affected. Also it will be slightly heavier thus affecting mpg and acceleration in turn for a higher final speed.

How would the tire size affect my speedometer?

45 is a taller tire, taller then your stock tires so it will throw off speedo, odometer.

185/65/15 195/55/16 205/45/17, see the trend? That is what Tire Rack or Americas Tire will tell you is your stock size, plus one size and plus two size, at least this is what I always got when I was searching tires and wheels for my car. If you vary much from this, then it will effect your speedo.

^^^I would install the tuner lugs at the same time you put your new rims on...Im not sure if the stock lugs will work because #1. Fit the opening #2. Have enough thread rotations...Reference the 215/45/17 tire issue, there is a thread that discusses this issue...The 45 series tire from what I read gives you a nice ride with plenty of sidewall and it really fills the gap between the fender and tire nicely...As far as the speedo being off, it will only be off by a little bit so that wont be a biggie...Like I said, I have been rolling on 40 series for about a year now and I love they way they ride, but when my tires need changing, I will be putting on a 45 series...Good luck and lets see those pics when your done.....
