I dont get all this offset stuff....
I have read the FAQ on this in the forum like 10 times and i still dont understand what the offset is. What is the offset? What is a good Offset? How do u tell the offset? Im pretty new to cars and i dont know all this stuff. Can someone tell me all I need to know about offsets and rubbing and such in lamens terms? thank you oh so very much!
try this link http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html
input your original offset and rim width, then input new values, it'll tell you how close or far(clearance) the new set up is.

depends on width and what you want. Even front and back requires different offset front and rear or diff width or both or spacers. Flush with the fender requires a little trimming.
What width?
What width?
It all depends on what you're going for. My wheels are a +40 offset:

These are a -32 (Yes, that's MINUS 32
)

See how most of my rim is under the car and behind the hub. The other ones are going to have much more of the rim in front of the hub, sticking outward. Of course they'll be tucked under flares and won't just "stick out"...
Does that help?
