painting springs?help
i just jot my tanabe df210s in the mail and i was wondering if there is any way i can touch up the color some.the spring i bought were used so the color(white)that is on them is shiping off.i was thinking of painting them red.what kind of spray paint would work best for that.the part stores around my area are pepboys, kragen, and auto zone.thanks for tha help.
Since you bought them used, powder coating may be out of the budget. If paint is where your budget is I would try using the Duplicolor automotive paint at the auto parts store. Sand the springs with a fine sandpaper to roughen the surface and put on several coats as directed. Take your time and you should get a pretty good finish. I have baked things like this in the oven for an hour at about 175-200 degrees to harden the finish. My wife gets real tight when it stinks up the house though.
