Default Silverstars

I was just wondering what your opinion on silverstars are. Im tired of having xenon bulbs blow on me and I hate stock headlights. They look like poop.

They are a safe, cheap, reliable, and DOT approved upgrade from the stock lights and a alternate solution to the HID's
I have had them for around 6 months. No melted harness, no burn out bulb issue. Plus I like the white look which keeps the po-po off you, stating that they are blue. I have to worry about that up here in MA. I recommend them!

Are you kidding - Sylvania Silverstars they get 1/10th the life of a normal bulb, and do not emit any brighter light, they just use a tinted bulb to give the illusion.

If you want bulbs that are brighter - think about investing in some GE Nighthawks.

I have no experience with silverstars, but I have had PIAA's in my mercedes for 3-4yrs with absolutely no problems. I would highly recommend them.

I have the silverstars as well for about a year. No problems. The bulbs are not tinted. The filaments burn whiter. But there is no substitute for HIDs. Thats next.

i love my silverstars and have had them for over a year, no burn outs, the light looks white not orangeish like stocks, that gives the illusion of a brigher light. my stock bulbs burned out in about 4 months, and the piaas i had burned out in 3 months. i have not tried the nighthawks yet, but have heard good things about them.

My previous car still has the silverstars going on two years (same bulbs). The box has been rockin the silverstars since day 1. If you need a little more yellow than the blueish hue of the silverstars, go with the nighthawks though. It's about the same light output, but the nighthawks are lower on the spectrum. Silverstars at 3700, nighthawks at 3200 if I remember correctly. Similar burn ratings (heat intensity) on both. If I can ever save up for them, I'm going the route of ichiko HIDs no questions asked. Silverstars and Nighthawks are absolutely no comparison to HID... it's a night and day difference.

I had the silverstars before, and they were okay. They are brighter than stock a little. I ended up replacing them with some super cheap ones from pepboys (I know, so don't bother to say it). I wanted a bluish color, to match all the other lights on the car. They are about half the price of the silverstars, and super bright.
