Default Rear adjustable shock questions

OK, so I've been looking and I can't find any air shocks for the xB. the problem I have is there is alot of stereo stuff going in the rear hatch. I have the Tanabe NF210 lowering springs and with the audio stuff in there now the back sags.

so what I need to know is how to correct the sagging? will adjustable shocks like Koni solve that sagging problem? Does anyone know of an air shock that would work on the xB? My other option is airbags/hydro's and that is a BIG expense.

so if anyone has ideas please let me know.
thanks!

i don't think that would help, you can try toying with the idea of putting the stock springs on the back back on too see if that'll help any just an idea

heck it should of take ya a few minutes to do anyways

been there done that. I was thinking the same as you. but the stock spring is not as stiff so it sags just as bad. thank goodness they are easy to swap.

I e-mailed Monroe about air shocks for the xB last week. still no reply. other people tell me put blocks in the springs. that sounds to riggin' to me.

the stock springs in the rear didnt help? wow i had a lot fo weight back there and it was still the rear was a little higher than the front. How much stereo stuff do you have? You could also do coilovers and adjust everything to where you need it

i suggest doing coilovers with "race springs" from a heavier car.. i.e. buy a coilover kit for an accord or something, put those stiff springs in the rear. bottom line is, you need a stiffer spring rate.

I thought about that. maybe some DF210 fronts.

I thought about the coilover but the coilover wouldn't raise the car up would it? if you put the coilover to its highest setting the weight would still make it sag, like just having lowering springs by themselves right?

I should be looking for a way stiffer spring and a shock designed for carrying a heavy load shouldn't I? or get air ride.

so would a set of Tein Basics or KSport coilovers be what I am needing, and just specify that I need a stiff spring?

As you are concluding some sort of adjustable suspension will be your best option. Other wise you will be mixing and matching static drop springs forever. If you want to completely change your suspension get either the Tein Basics or some Progress coilovers. If you just want to do "load assistance" in the rear I would go with air suspension.

You could actually get off pretty cheap in the rear if you truly treat it as a load assist system. The cheapest route I know is to buy a set of rear brackets from FBI and a pair of 2B6 bags from the Gauge store. You'd be looking at $200 plus applicable tax and shipping. You could then use simple Schrader valves to fill and release air as required. As funds became available your could then get yourself a compressor, tank and valves.

thanks Dustin. I think I'll go the coilover direction first and if that doesn't do what I want then air ride will be next.
