Okay guys and gals...this is driving me insane.

I know we are supposed to cut the bumpstops when going below 1.75, but the real question is by how much do we cut them...1/2, 1/3, 1/4???

And will cutting the bumpstops have any effect on the height in the front? Say with the Spy springs...if I cut the bumpstops, will it lower the front any?

I think the Suspension FAQ should include a shpiel about the bumpstops, especially if everyone says that they need to be cut, but fails to include by how much.

 

its not gonna affect the height...
u should cut it in order to give struts travel...
i cut half of the bumpstops

 

Much agreed and half the bumpstop is exactly what you should cut if you do a 2" drop.

totally agree...unless u want to bottom out ur struts... u should cut the bumpstop about half for a 2" drop...
