i just got rims.no pics yet, but heres my question. the rims are 18x7.5 with Faulken 225/40/ZR18 tires. i don't see them rubbing, but do you guys think they'll rub front/rear and if not, what size spacers will fit without rubbing? thanks for the help

There is no way to tell unless you give us offset or backspacing. Chances are your wheels are probably in the +40 to +45 offset range. If that is the case you probably wont have any wheel fitment issues. You can gain some added clearance with some hub spacers from http://www.onetongarage.com.

Tires on the other hand will be a problem. Especially if you decide to lower it. Stock tire diameter is approximately 23-3/4". Those 225/40s will be over 25" tall. Not good. If you really want a 225, get a 35 series. A slightly better fit is 215/35. If you absolutely have to have a 40 series at least drop down to a 215/40. I'd definitely get a 35 series though.

Good luck.

He still will with that size tire. The right size is like Rton20s said is 215/35/18. His are too tall and wide for this application IMHO.

what if i go with the tein h-tech springs 1.7/1.5 , 20mm spacers in the rear, 10mm in the front and 215/35/18 in the front and 225/40018 in the rear or 215/35/18 all around. i should be fine with that, right?

If you are running the same width wheel all the way around, I would run the same tire all the way around. I really think you are best off with a 215/35/18. If you want a slightly wider tire a 225/35/18 can work just as well.

I am not completely sure how little backspacing you can have with a 1.5"-2" drop and not encounter rubbing issues. I would wait to order spacers until after you have mounted or test fit the wheels. Then compress your suspension )Just have someone push down on the car) and see how much clearance you have. Then choose your spacer size from there. If it were me, I would probably only run a 3/8" OTG hub spacer in the rear and nothing in the front.

Good luck.

Here is my deal. I have 1.5 inch drop with OTG 10mm spacers. 215/45/17 on 17" rims with 40mm backspace. Mine rubs the outer edge of the rear tires when anyone is in the back seat. Only over dips or bumps.

Unless you stay away from the OTG spacers or lessen your drop you will rub with much anything over the standard 215/35/18. Period. Don't believe us? Go for it and find out for yourself. We aren't making this stuff up as we go along. Learn from what we have experienced. The choice is yours. Sorry it's not what you want to hear.
