Default ES Air-Strut question [Pic inside]

I was just wondering if this is all correct for any of you other owners out there:

I wasn't sure if i was supposed to leave the big red nylon washer thing on there or not. But this is how i installed it and i just got back from a trip about 6 hours away for a car show and stuff. Maybe like 800~ miles on it so far and i haven't had any problems (other then my positive camber and my toe being way off). I haven't heard that knocking noise either that some peeps have said the ES struts do

Judging by the pictures on Easystreet's installation manual it looks correct. It appears they just changed the part from black to red.

I can't be 100% on that without seeing it in person though.

True. That's what i figured as well. Thanks man!

I meant to ask 1 more question in my first post. I'm not able to let my bags completely out yet because my toe is way out on both wheels and the positive camber, but even as low as i can drop it, my front swaybar hits. I know that there still is pressure in the bags cause i can reach through my wheel and feel the bags still stiff. I'm just wondering what i can do about the sway bar issue.

Mine don't have that big red washer. Mine didn't even ship with anything like that. So that may be some type of packing material. If its supposed to have one, mine haven't for almost 18 months now.

Not much you can do about the sway bar issue. Mine has bent the subframe up some for a little more drop over time. But its a nice little safety for the most part, becuase it keeps the halfshafts from getting into the PS belt too much. But you can go without the sway bar(although some will tell you otherwise). You could also notch the subframe up some so it doesn't hit.

On second hand....I wonder if thats Airlifts fix for the clank problem that plagued earlier owners of those struts. Who knows, I've got no washer, and no clank.

That's what i was wondering. I don't see how leaving it on can damage anything since nothing rests on it .. oh well.

And about the sway bar, i'll see about the notching, but i guess it does keep the PS belt from rubbing ... oh well

I don't know if you're still looking for an answer to your original question, but I'll answer anyway ;)
My experience was exactly like the first reply in this thread by RTon20s: the big washer on my setup was black, not red. I also left mine on but I still have the clanking/clunking sound from both front struts. I'm not sure what's causing it yet, but I'm determined to try to figure it out. It's almost like it needs another nylon washer for spacing.

Anyway, as for the positive camber you'll probably have to look into camber plates to correct that as most everyone that's chimed in about their experiences wound up going that route. I'm certain an alignment shop can correct the toe.

Yea, i'm getting the cusco's from MyBox. We'll see how it goes i guess ... i thought i heard a knocking noise last night coming home from work, but i was driving with the front lower than usual and it could've been my sway bar hitting, or my tire hitting the fenderwell ... or maybe that brake cable bracket ... who knows. If it happens again i'll check it out
