Hello all. What is the "correct" way to install this rear shocks? With the rear of the car on the air or on the ground?

Does this affect the performance of the shocks? I mean, does this make the ride softer or harder?

There is no wrong way to do it. I did it with the car on the ground. Take off the nuts in any order, put on the shocks and replace the nuts. It's very easy. I find that my ride is smoother.

I did that way too, I was just wondering if doing the install with the rear up, and open the shocks a little more will make any performance difference.
Anyway, I can tell the difference. Smoother ride.

 

Nope. Remember, "shock absorbers" is a misnomer. The springs are the things that absorb the shock. The shocks would be more accurately named "anti-rebounders", and they keep the vehicle from bouncing around after a "shock". But they can do this with more or less smoothly depending upon many engineering applications of which I have absolutely no understanding. I only know how they feel after I change them.
