Default Thats right, the xA replacement is the Scion xD

Its been floating around, but I now know that there will be no second-generation Scion xA, the new vehicle will be called the Scion xD. It is going to be a little bigger, and that is about all I can reveal at this time. More to come in the future!

poo... I want more info... maybe I'll press my sources on Sat and see what's up. Poor xA, never got to live up to anything so they just scrap the name as well. Hmmm... what's next?

Well, they had said that no Scion would ever have a successor... each model would be clean-sheet with a fresh name. I think that the xB was such a hit that they decided to redesign it and maintain the heritage, but xA sales were a little underwhelming considering it was the least expensive of the three models.

If I was an xA owner I would be happy, because no xA successor means that the resale value of the cars will be slightly higher because it won't ever be the "old xA".

it suckz that we dont even get another xA. its bs, sales as far as i know were pretty good, but there was no freakin aftermarket support, or any scion support as a matter a fact, its all bs. im lookin forward to the new model, it is a good thing that there wont be an "old xA"

more info would be better, maybe a picture, or a couple of pictures, also, is there any def. info to know if there will actually be an rs 3 for the xA?

Found this on a google search

It is from autoweek
Future Products—Scion
The wedge is out, but box will stay

xA: Expect a spring 2008 redesign of the xA, which is the U.S. version of the Japan market ist.

Don't expect the wedge shape to continue. The xA could be a U.S.-only vehicle derived from the ist platform, or it could be something pulled from the Japan product portfolio.

xB: Scion boss Mark Templin says: "We should always have a box. The box can evolve and improve, but the concept of a box will not change." That may mean the current xB sticks around as a heritage model and will not become the redesigned bB seen at the 2005 Tokyo show. A new powertrain is scheduled to come in spring 2008 for the 2009 model year.

tC: Expect a five-year model cycle with a redesign arriving in early 2009 as a 2010 model. For a hint of future design ideas, check out the Fuse concept coupe from the New York auto show.

xD: Do not be confused by the stretched version of the current xB that has been snapped by spy photographers. That vehicle is a mule for a future Scion vehicle, based on the Corolla platform with more horsepower. The xD likely will be a variation on the Toyota Matrix theme. It will arrive in the 2008 model year. Scion has applied for a trademark on the xD name

since it will be based on the matrix it will be a larger xA.

I wonder it they are discontinuing the toyota matrix that is why they are releasing the M hybrid theory as a last hoorah

Matrix is getting a redesign for '08. They're not even selling an XRS version of the 07s here in Canada.

the xA is already a smaller version of the Matrix, if you look at them side by side, you can see some differences, but you can also see that the basic design is almost identical, only smaller on the xA.

How funny you said that...At my old job, my ex-boss owned a Matrix and when I got my xA she would always park next to me. When I walked out of work, I would always compare the difference then I always think this. "Matrix is the Hot Dog" meaning it's longer and shorter in height while "xA is the Hamburger" meaning it's shorter in length and taller.

Anyway, I heard some rumors about 2006 being last year for the xA's. I felt very special for buying the xA. I knew the sales were down for them and that's why people who wanted them couldn't get them. I will promise to all the Scion xA owners out there in the world....I will always keep my xA in showroom condition just for you guys and gals! :D

well, the Matrix was a bit of a flub. the xA is a flub. so the new car should really successful. let's kill the Matrix and redesin the xA to look like the Matrix so we won't sell them still. I say Toyota gets us the Voxy in place of the xB. I really want to work on one. Toyota should realize they can't sell in the cheap car segment very well. Hyundai and KIa own that segment with cheap faster cars and a longer warranty. Geez, I mean ow many guys here have already ditched their boxes and shuttles for Fits? I see more of those than xA's I have counted in the last year.
