Default Shocks and struts

I am wondering I have a 05 xB and I want to put on Tein S-Tech or a 2" drop spring. One of our shops in town said if I do not put on after market shocks and struts then they will blow out in about a few months. Can anyone give me some info on this and tell me if you have experienced this at all. Thanks KidVid

Tell, them to get out of the american cars and get into the import era! Your struts will be fine, they will not last as long as you had hoped but if you want, you can install TRD struts and stay lowered with no problems.

They won't last as long as if you didn't lower the car so you can A) change them while they are still good or B) wait until they need to be changed.

I chose B, as did most of the folks I know and I haven't heard of anyone's blowing out yet...
