OK so I have no idea what terms like rolling my fenders mean.
Can someone just give me an easy answer and tell me if I can fit 16s or better yet 17s on my 06 XA. And if so... what size tires do I need to pull it off?

I just dropped my ride on the Tanabe DF210s so I have 2in less space now.

Thanks
-Mike

OK, 16s or 17s will fit fine. Just look in the sticky post for wheel fitments that fit. Basically anything up to 7" wide with 40 to 35 offset will fit fine.

Rolling fenders: the part of the fender that makes the wheel arch has the sheet metal folded inwards toward the wheel. Wider wheels can rub on this, so rolling the fenders will fold the sheet metal flatter to allow more room for the wheel. The cross section of the sheet metal will go from "L" shaped to more like "V" or "I" shaped.

Does that make sense?

offset is basically: how far your wheel will "stick out".

You ever seen cars with the wheels poking out WAY farther than the body? Thats usually someone running RWD wheels on a FWD car.

This might help:

OK so does that mean I need to buy something other than rims and tires? Like some sort of spacer or soemthing? Or when I go to get the tires mounted do I just tell them I need them offset (x) amount?

Thanks for all the help on this

Wheels already come with a certain offset. Anything up to 7" wide with 40 to 35 offset will fit with no modification.

lots of online wheel sellers have vehicle fitment guides. type in what car you have, pick a wheel and tire combo, and roll. i'd go that route if i were you. the easiest and often cheapest way to get nice wheels. i like edgeracing.com and wheelfire.com.

you can also go on tirerack.com to see what certain style wheels will look like. good luck!

17x7.0 . . . . . . . 38 . . . . . . . . . . . . . 215/45-17
which is EXACTLY what I am looking at but does anyone know if this will still work with my 2in drop? I just installed the Tanabe DF210's
