Default What shocks does everyone run with their DF210's?

I am running TRD with mine and those shocks suck!!! What a waste of money. Then I thought about coil overs but too expensive and not enough drop for my liking. So now I am looking at maybe some adjustable shocks. What will make for a super comfy ride but still be good enough to handle weight in the back and hard cornering?

How about Koni or Tokico? Are these adjustable shocks even worth it? The price for a set of either of these is like 560.00

I wish I would have done more research before wasting my money on the TRD crap.

There are a lot of people running the Koni with good results. On the softest of the 4 settings they supposedly ride quite well. But when you crank up the dampening, they really change the handling characteristics of the car.

I don't think anyone on this site has really messed with the Tokicos. If I am not mistaken they do offer more levels of adjustment than the Konis. I don't know where that adjustment falls compared to the Konis though. It could very well be that even the softest Tokico setting is stiffer than the stock dampening. Until someone buys them and tries them, we won't know for sure.

If you use your Scionlife discount at Ptuning before Halloween you can pick up the Tokico set for only $535 shipped.

Save the money for other stuff and get the Monroes all the way around.

What is the part number for the Monroe front struts? Are they shorter than the stock struts? I have the Monroe shocks in the rear and i know that they're overall shorter than the stock shocks which is good since the car is lowered.

what part number? there are several posts, search 'monroe part number'

Shocks #5987, $32 each
Struts #71575, $55 each

there is a part number #5870 floating around for the shocks, but those are not for the echo/xB and would be used in cases of extreme drop, greater than the df210s

Thanks for the struts number. I have the 5870 shocks in the rear because i used to be on air so they were "needed".

so for around a 2 inch drop is the 5987 better or the 5870? and if it's the 5870, what car is that meant for, sears won't allow a lookup just by part number.
