Default 215-55/16 fit on Xb??

Does anyone know if these tire will fit with stock springs I can't lower mine because I live on a gravel road that has 6" deep holes in the spring.Wanted to go a little wider than the recommended 205's.

By "size" you mean width, offset, etc., right?

But let's look at relative tire dimensions first, because a 205 and a 215 would probably both fit the same 7"-7.5" wheels, since there's only a 1/4" difference in tire width.

Stock xB tire size is 185/60-15, which means the tire is 185 mm wide and the sidewall is 60% of the tire width (in this case, about 4.4 inches from the inside of the bead to the road). This tire is 23.7" tall. And, of course, it fits on a 15" wheel which I'm guessing is about 6.5 inches wide.

In comparison, a 215/55-16 tire is a quarter inch wider and 1.6" taller (25.3"). The sidewall is 4.7". Since it's taller and wider, there might be clearance problems where the tires rub against suspension parts when turned all the way left or right, particularly over bumps. But maybe not. There seems to be plenty of fender well room for up and down clearance, unless you've done a drop. Meanwhile, your speedo will read 6.6% slow unless you recalibrate the car's computer. Watch for cops.

The optional tire sizes recommended by Scion, Tire Rack and others, are:

205/50-16 (24.1" tall)
205/45-17 (24.3" tall)
215/35-18 (23.9" tall)

All of these are shorter than the 215/55-16 and the 18s are only 0.2" taller than the stock 15s.

The question is, why that particular size? Do you want wider tires or the look of thicker sidewalls, or more comfort or all of the above? Because if you just want wider, 215/50-16 or 215/45-16 would certainly fit.

215/55-16 are probably too tall and would probably cause all sort of rubbing problems. I have 215/50-16 (on a 16 x 7.5 rim) and have a slight problem with rubbing (they catch slightly on the plastic wheel well when I turn in reverse). Try to stay within 3% of the stock diameter. The size you asked about are over 6% larger than stock. Also suggest you buy some gravel and fill in some of those holes.
