Default Ceramic or Semi Metallic Brakes?

I just got my front & rear brakes done and it sounds like they're rubbing on the rotors or they have dust on them. But it's been that way for a couple of months now. Does anyone know if the XB uses Ceramic or Semi Metallic Brakes? I thought they were ceramic & the place I took it too said the rears they put in are semi metallic....I'm thinking that's the problem???
