I have a 2006 xa. im looking for rims right now and im leaning towards Volk TE37's. I was wondering if anyone has either gotten them, or knows if they would rub. They are 18x7.5, 4x100 bolt pattern, and 40mm offset. Would these fit fine or would they rub?

 

I have 18x 7.5 Driv wheels with a 42MM offset on mine. I am running 215/40/18 tires (a bit oversize) stock on 18 is 215/35/18. My box is at stock height for now. Clearance is very tight at the forward inboard side of the rear tires to the axle cross beam. I have less than 1/8" on the right side. this should be fine as this relationship on the rear should never change...BUT I think it is too close so I am adding 5MM spacers in the rear. The front clears everthing ok except it did rub just slightly on the tow hook behind the left front tire at full lock left turn. A few blows with a big hammer fixed this very slight rub (215/35/18's would likely just clear here). I see I might have some clearance issues (slight ) when I drop it 2" in a week or so. These issues would also be minimized or eliminated by using the 35 series instead of the 40 series tire (but I like the look of the 40 so I will modify as needed to get good clearance once when I lower it). You should have more inboard clearance with the 40MM offset and I doubt you will run into outboard clearance issues at stock height. If you are or will be lowered you may have clearance issues on the outboard side of the front tires in a turn with the suspension loaded (closest outboard point seems to be the 2 bolt heads right where the fender and the front bumper join in the wheelhouse)??

 

Since you answered his question allow me to threadjack. will 18x75 with a 45mm offset work?

 

^^CXT, if you don't scrape you're going to be REALLY close in back. A 5mm spacer will fix your problem there though.

To the OP, yeah, you'll be just fine with those. Just run a 215/35R18 tire and you'll have no issues even with a drop. No spacers needed, just bolt 'em on.

Update !! My box is dropped 2" on Goldlines with the 215/40R18 tires and no rubbing. The slight tow hook rub I had in front went away with the drop
