ok, I've had my box a year, and now that its dropping into the 30's and 40's at night I'm noticing when I get up in the morning and go to my car the drivers door won't unlock, sometimes I can reach through and pull it up to unlock it manually, the key however never works when its cold, and the remote, even the alarm remote, only half unlocks it, I've had to climb through from the passenger's side several times now, and was wondering if anyone else has had this problem, because I really don't want to have to deal with my dealer's snobby "we can't replicate the problem" attitude anymore
I have had the problem this winter too. Unfortunately, I know exactly what my problem is. It appears that my SuperFa lighted door lock **** is just a tiny bit tight in the sleeve. When it's cold (only in the early morning so far) the damn thing won't unlock fully with the remote. If I put the key in though and twist it works fine.
So my problem is aftermarket parts. This didn't happen last winter when I had the stockers in.
How close are you to the MO border? If you're within driving distance check out Reliable Scion in Springfield, MO. Scott Horberg will hook you up with the right guy in service.
If you want to check the problem out yourself, you can easily pull the door panel and unscrew the lock then check the friction of the lock in the sleeve. There are some small guide bumps in that sleeve that you could probably dremel out if I remember right. That's my plan. Wish me luck!
Good luck to you too!
