Default Pics of stock height xB with 17x7 with 205/40/17....

I bought Bbist's Zauber 17x7's and ordered a set of Nitto NeoGen 205/40R17s ---Now I have to wait to get them in and mounted up--- I have a stock height PW xB and wondered if anybody would be so kind as to post up pics of their stock height xB with 17's and 205/40's installed. I hope I don't have a rubbing issue with the wheels having a +42 offset, as I don't want to use spacers if I don't have to. Post them up....!!!

I'd really like to see this, as well! Sounds just like me: I have a stock PW xB and am buying 17x7 w/ +42 wheels from my dad and will be getting 205/40 tires for them.

You won't have rubbing issues at stock height. But those tires are under weight rated for the xB. I tried buying that size from Tire Rack and they wouldn't sell them to me because I told them they were for an xB. Stick with either 205/45 or 215/40. They cost more but won't cause problems with overloading the tires.

That's funny, because the 205/40 R17 Nitto Neo Gen is load rated at 84 -- and so is the stock Goodyear Eagle LS that came on my box-- I think somebody just wanted to sell you some more expensive tires....

Maybe it was the fact that I was trying to buy Kuhmo 711s in 205/40/17.

Thanks bighvyxb -- Looks great...

Jethro b-- You are probably right about the Kumhos--I looked at some other brands and found that they had a 80 load rating, which would be too light for the xB.

If it helps, I had 215/40/17's put on 17x7's this morning. There's 4 pics here: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2508531 and if you'd like to see more, shoot me an email and I'll send them over. Kinda wish I would've gone with 205's though...

But Why? The 215/40s better match the height of the stock 15s and give you added pothole protection.

205 refers to the width (205mm ) 215 is a little wider . 45 vs. a 40 would be a better ride. 215/45/17 or 205/45/17 is the better ride.

I'm slow but got it now You meant 205/45 instead of the 215/40s

I'm not at stock height but I do have the 205/40/17 with 17x7 rims. No rubbing at all. When these wear out I'm going with the 215/40/17 tires.

True, but to me the 215's on 7" wide rims just look kinda funny. Then again, I'm just used to seeing the rims on my Subaru.

Also true, but I was going to go with a 205/40 so it looked proper on the 7" wide rim. But you're right - the ride would be better with a 45% sidewall height.

bighvyxb meant 205/45, I meant 205/40. :D

Okay I'am confused i have a stock height xb, and I'am wanting to put some rims on it. I was thinking about a set of 17x7 icw odessa with some nankang NS-1 215-40-17. What size offset should i get ? Should i get a different size rim or tire? I'am not going for anything special I just want them to look good and have a good rib with no rubbing or clearnce issues

You should be okay with a 42mm or less offset on those.

On a 7" wide rim you should probably run a 205 tire though. 215 will probably work, but the person mounting them will _____ at you a bit.

Rubbing and such won't be an issue.

Default I have 215/40 on 17x7

Here's my thread: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=150999

jsnhawkins - you might want to search "Nankang" though and read up. I was going to get those, but the reviews made them sound really hit or miss! FWIW my rims have a 42mm offset and I think they look cool and all, but I'll definately be researching spacers because they look "sucked in" in the front a little bit and really bad in the back.

grizzly_choppers - why would the tire guys "biscuit"???
