Default Ebay and Grilles

Has anyone purchased a Grille from EBAY? If so are they any good and did you have to modify anything?

I picked up one of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-04...60353802QQrdZ1

It fit pretty well, no gaps. The only pain was the third pin that is mounted in the center. The holes don't match up that well. I widened the grille hole a little bit and that did the trick.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with it, cheap and looks good, especially with eyelids.

I got my vinyl eyelids from Randode... I debated either the fiberglass or the vinyl, but I really didn't want CF so I went with Randode. He sells two types, I have the agressive ones.

i got this one to....it fit with no gaps....but hte holes i had a hard time with..all my pins broke...and there was a gap between the headlights and grill....so i used a bolt on the center hole...works great....FYI, i have aftermarket headlights, could be a reason for not fitting perfect.

There is a carbon fiber grill on SSuperstore that I want to get but I also see it on ebay for a cheaper price. I wonder if there is any difference? I want to go with the CF grill because my XB is Onyx Blue. But FrogBox Yours looks great!

Be real careful of the "carbon fiber" grill on e-bay, the one that looks like mine is just my grill covered in look a like vinyl.

If you get one from e-bay read the description very, very carefully so you are not disapointed.

And thanx for the complement on my grill, you should see it at night when the under hood lights are on. I put green plastic behind the cutouts to block crud from getting into my engine. It completes the mean look. :D

My personal ebay experience with grills.

1. Billet Grill. I had to work that thing so much it took a day just to get it to look and fit right. Plug'n'play my butt. However I only paid $65 or so. It made a crazy whistling noise while I was doing 80mph, another day of fabricating a backing plate.

2. Speedmesh grill. Once again ebay special. Same old story. Description didn't match. It was supposed to be black backing plate and chrome grill. I got a backing plate and grill painted the same PRIMER color. Luckily the primer color was close to TCM. lol I ended up popping out the rivets painting the backing plate and fitting the grill.

Needless to say the cheap imitation ebay grills are exactly that. I like my grills fine and most people don't notice how badly I tore them up. I'm not going to win shows with them but I have been asked about them several time. Either pay the money for the good stuff or be prepared to "work" the grills a little. Personally it was what I expected and I didn't pay much. I'm not complaining just letting everyone know what is up.

BTW if anyone wants to know what I did to the billet grill here is something I posted some time ago. Scroll down a little. lol

I just noticed you are in germantown, I'm not too far away in rockville. If you ever want to see the grills let me know and we can meet up after the holidays.
