I just had my TRD springs installed by the dealer. I think my tC was the first one they did. :?

I had a couple questions. I don't even know if they installed it properly. Is there anything I can do to make sure they installed it properly. Or am I just going to have to pray that it won't fall apart? Also, how do I know if they aligned it? Is there anyway I can tell if the wheels are aligned?

The ride seems to be a little slower now, but from what I was told I'm just hallucinating.

Well I would hope a dealership could manage to install a set of springs properly. :? You should have nothing to worry about.. got some pics for us?! I was thinking about gettin the TRD springs for mine but I think I'm goin with the ground effects kit and exhaust first. :D Thanks

 

They don't let any idiot do something like springs on a new car. I'm sure it was installed correctly.

As for the alignment you would know if they did it because they would have charged you for it, no dealership is going to do that stuff for free.

 

actually these days there are idiots that are just beginning or aren't properly trained everywhere installing things that they should't be . i ask this because, they did let some idiot do the window tint installation. there are bubbles everywhere and the windows are all scratched up.

as for the alignment, they didn't charge me for it. its suppose to be part of the installation process according to the tC service manual? but i don't know if they actually did it.

it drives straight when the steering wheel is straight, is that the only indication that its aligned? it seems to have some negative camber, but i'm really not sure. i don't know too much about alignments. anyone know?

 

Not sure if stock a tC has any adjustment for camber at all. Most cars do not. If it doesn't than there isn't much they can do unless you buy a camber kit.

 

From what I was told by another scion life member, the tC has factory adjustment arms for the rear ...so any minor camber adjustment can be made without a kit. And the front usually requires some bolts to correct the alignment.

what does the whole alignment on a tC consist of anyway? what is it suppose to do? I still have no idea how to tell if it was aligned or not.

 

the front wont need camber bolts for just a 1.25" drop. the rear is adjustable.

 

so the rear wheels would need camber adjustment? how do i know if it wasn't done already? do i need to take it back to the dealer to get it done?

 

are the rear wheels crooked? after installing the TRD springs on my cousin's tC, you could tell that the camber was off just by looking at it.

 

crooked in which direction? should I be able to tell just by looking at it? should I compare the rear wheels with the front one's?

 

they will be kicked out at the bottom.

 

is it possible for the tC to still drive straight even though the the camber is off? i can't really tell by just looking at it. It might be just slighty off. But I guess I really don't have eye for that. Is there anyway else I can know if its off?
