Would I have a problem with 18x7.5 +36 offset?
I am going to get some volks with size 18 x 7.5 and a +36 offset. Will they rub or will I be fine with that offset? I have already read the sticky. Will th offset push the rims near the strut? I just want to make sure before I buy them. And have any of you guys have RSR springs installed? If so how is the ride? The tire size I am considering is 205 45 or 215 40? What do you guys think. I'll post pic as soon as I get them.
What's up bro.
That particular offset and size on the wheels won't pose any rubbing problems, but the wheel may be "sunken" in looking, especially in the rear of the car.

yea +35 would be nice..
try 18x8 or 17x8 + 35 or whatever offset u want.
that will make the rims look badass.. goodluck man.
but if u go over a +42 offset(like anything higher.. like 43,44,etc)
u'll have problems.(spokes might not clear calipers)

Well, it's up to you, but even if you can get a killer deal on a set of Volks in +42mm offset, I'd pass on those. Or see if the deal can be extended on the same wheels, but in a much more correct offset. Because seriously, your car will look sooooo much better with the wheels flush! No need to pay a good price once on a set of wheels, and then pay again later for another set of wheels after you feel let down at the high offset when you can pay a little more once and be happy forever. >HAHA< :)
Yeah you made a good point van. I was think of the same thing. So I found a place with almost the same price and I am now getting 17x7 with an offset of +36. What do you think of that now
If you have to stick with the 7" width, definitely go with the +30mm offset. If you can get the 8" width, then go with the 17x8", +30mm wheels. And if you are willing to run a staggered setup front and rear, then get 17x8", +30mm in front and 17x8", +24mm in the back. The ONLY downside to going staggered is that you won't be able to rotate your tires on the wheels. You can still rotate tires though if you run all four same size tires.
If i got 17x8 with +36 is that ok? If they only make a setup of 17x7.5 with 36 will that fit too? Or a 18x7.5 +36 or +31 is that good? Or is ideal 18x8 with +31 or +36 or would either or fit?
im having the same problem too i never really understood this whole offset thing but i was wondering if yall can lend me a hand too.. i was at the tire shop and got to look at the 215/35 tires and i dont think i will be comfortable with them i want to go with 225/40s on 18x7.5 what would be a good offset so the wheels would be flush?and would not rub? i dont really want to use spacers but if i have to then its fine. any help would be much apreciated
Unfortunately, there arent too many wheels that you can get in a 4 x 100 bolt pattern with anything close to the correct offsets. Why? Well, two reasons really. First, not to many rims in that bolt pattern with a low offset. Second, front and rear need different offsets to sit flush with the fender.
2 solutions for you. Order some nice wheels from Van and be patient on their arrival. He wont do you wrong. Or get whataever you want thats available and use different spacers front and rear to achieve the proper fit.
If you go with 18s, def go with the 215 40. The 35 series tires just dont look right at all.

Another downside to custom ordered Volk Racing wheels: wait time can sometimes be as long as 6-8 months!!! My friend had almost forgotten about some custom-offset TE37s he ordered till they came in almost one whole year later!
