any quality riding 2" drop springs available ?
Hello all,
Title says it all. It seems as though alot of people here are more concerned with how much drop they are getting from there springs vs. overall quality of ride from there springs/suspension set up.
I've seen the *spring rate* spread sheet at the top of this forum index. As good as Eibach is , I've heard bad things about the Sportline spring kit (in terms of ride quality). Are there any .. I mean ANY quality riding springs out there that offer a 2" drop (considering a 15" wheel... thus the 2" drop) .... what about H&R springs ?
Thanks in Advance.

I have the Tanabe DF210's also and they were smooth enough. It got really bumpy when I put some ADR Racing 18" rims with 215 35 R18 tires. If you are expecting a stock ride from any springs that lower the vehicle I think you will be disappointed. No matter what it will be bumpier than stock if you go the spring route. Maybe an air bag suspension would give you what you are looking for. I think you would lose a lot on the handling side though. Just my $.02.

Do you have rims? The larger the rim the smaller the tire. The smaller the tire the rougher the ride

I am a Eibach fan... but seems like the Pro kit is the quality/worth wild spring set there. I prefer not to mix and match(different fronts from rear) manufactures.
I just put on the eibach sportlines in last night I think the ride quality is just fine. I've been a fan of eibachs and they still have not disappointed me. Again I haven't riden in other cars with different springs. If you're expecting stocks with a 2" drop you will disappointed as someone else stated but the eibachs are really smooth IMO. I put the monroe 5870's in the rear and there's no bounce at all not too stiff either, you do feel the road more than stock of course but if you're on a messed up road you'll feel the bumps but it's still a smooth ride it's not like a civic with 3 -4 inch drop wher e's you're bouncing all over the place. The handling is much better as well I put in the front end link bushings at the same time and the car handles much better. I think the ride should get a little better once i align the car this weekend. I think they are quality springs just my experience and my 2 cents.
I've got DF210s with pretty thin tires and the ride is not that bad. The only thing I complain about is scraping my front lip on everything...and occasionaly pinging the exhaust on speed bumps.
FYI, the ride on DF210s was HORRIBLE on stock shocks with stock rims/tires. I don't know how I made it 35,000 miles on that setup. Konis in the rear made such a huge difference... best $200 I ever spent on this car.
I'm running Koni yellows with new InTrax springs all around. They give about a 2 1/4" drop, and an unbelievably decent ride (and that's coming from an old guy with little tolerance anymore for an uncomfortable ride!). The springs are a progressive wind, which gives you that smooth feeling ride until you start pushing it, and as the coils compress, they stiffen up and handle like a go-kart.
I just can't recommend this set-up enough.

H&R springs I had in my last car performed well (stiff) but it had a corn pickin stance and it bottomed out easy. The Goldlines I have on this car ride sooo much smoother than stock even w/ factory shocks and struts. Plus get yourself some Echo Sensatrac struts to drop it 1/2" more. I hear the rear Sensatrack shocks are too soft when under a load.
