Default trd spring questions

Does anyone have trd springs on their xb? The dealer told my wife aftermarket spring would void the warranty so now I am looking for trd. Are they even worth the money? And is their anything I can do to get lower on the trd spring. I would like about a 2 inch drop. Thanks for your time.

trd wont take you to a 2 inch drop.

spring wont void the ENTIRE warranty, maybe just whatever involves the suspension. for example: if you need repairs done to your engine, they cant bust you for the springs because the springs did not cause the problem in the engine. they have to prove that what you did caused the problem – and then they can potentially turn you down.

ive been told (by a toyota parts dept counter clerk) that if youre worried bout blowing your struts from the springs... dont be, because struts arent even covered – they are wear and tear parts. so even if your stock struts blow on stock springs, they arent covered anyway

that – i am not sure of. springs will probably never wear out before the warranty ends. as far as control arms/bushings/etc, i would they are under warranty and not considered "wear and tear"

Without actually looking into warranty specifics, it is probably pretty safe to assume any rubber part would be considered a "wear and tear" item. Parts like boots, bushing, and balljoints (yeah, I know only the dust boots are rubber) aren't covered under warranty.

rubber boots should be covered. my dad got his rear suspension and front rotors n pads replaced under warranty on his 98 camry, in my dads case the parts were faulty so it really depend on the situation weather they cover stuff like that or not. my personal opinion is that if your experiencing anything wrong on ur car it should be covered under warranty. to say something for example toyota wont replace axle boots because of wear n tear is a little rediculous. the whole car from bumper to bumper is a wear n tear item so if they won't warrant little things like that they might as well not give u a warranty then. the dealerships can tell if you abused an item, they just look for any excuse to not do warranty work because they lose money. thats just my .02
