Default TRD spring quality? and combo with monroes

How is the quality of the trd sring in comparison to say, eibach which is shot peened and carries a I dont know how long warranty. how is it made? Do they have a coating to protect on the snow? and does this go for the trd way bar aswell

new* How will the TRD work with the Monroes shocks and struts for durability.

I was thinking since the monroes drop the front .5 inch and the springs drop about 1 inch. it will only be .5 away from the optimal operating range.

Does anyone know the stock height off the ground of the Echo vs the XB

tcm- i had the trd springs for about 50k miles. after that many miles, the powdercoat of white was pretty much gone where the coils compressed together. slight surface rust in between the coils but there was no sag at all. They're a good spring imo.

TRD is a good spring. Warranty is 12month/12,000 miles from purchase if u install urself or the rest of the new car warranty if u have toyota do it. TRD's products are good and should last as long as a regular set of springs. There stuff needs to be good if they're offering it to you. Eibach is an excellent spring, as well as any of there products. They are one of the top companies when it comes to suspension components and I'd trust they're products 110%. Both products will cost u a good amount of money, but it really depends on ur needs. Mild drop while retaining a comfortable ride, get the TRD springs. If u needs more drop and a much stiffer spring then get the Eibachs. Either way ur going to get some good quality springs.

I loved the trd's. I just was ready to go a little lower and much stiffer spring set.

I never liked my ride quality when i was rolling around with trd springs. It was way too harsh and stiff for me. I liked the stock ride better than with the trd's installed. So i ended up selling the trd springs 3-4 months after i had them on my xA,

Good bit of info.
I was gonna go TRD, but given the 1" drop , that was the nail in the coffin for me.
I did end up going Eibach Pro , since I know the quality is there.. and 1.5" drop + the black springs still look a bit stealth- look like stock springs.

Yeah, i like the springs, but I am VERY dissapointed about the fact that they have cracks in the powder coat and have the rust deal going. I have 20k on my box and had them on since I bought the car.

The ride is "ok", but man, they should have used red or something to hide some of the rust and stuff. I'd look to Eibach for future springs....

I have the Eibach Pro's. Greatest thing I have done yet. It maintained a great ride. Looks good. Well worth the extra money. I think Tirerack.com has them for 201.XX.

QUESTION:

Do you have to replace the factory struts/shocks if you replace the springs with a slight to moderate drop? Say, no more than 1.5"?

Should I start a new question for this?

Unless the springs have a high spring rate. I ran the TRD's on stock shocks for over 50k miles and they held up fine.

After the 50k ... i decided to run some megan springs which are twice the spring rate as the TRD's. Now i'm at 70k and in need to get some struts.

GOOD QUESTION claybo

I wanted to put the trd's with the Monroes which I guess drop the front .5 inch anyways and I wanted to know the durability of this combo

Thanks for your input TJ I prob will be doin the Monroe TRD combo then....

If others can ring in on TRD and stock shocks and struts combo reliability...that would be great

I like the ride with the TRDs better than the factory springs. I didn't change the shocks or struts. I picked them for the toyota warranty....Hate to hear they rust though. I am going to wax them a couple of times, hopefully it will help. I was wondering myself why they are white and not red like the strut bar and rear sway add-on...would have been nicer I think

Im glad I searched because I was going to ask this exact same question.

Can anyone give any feedback as to this combo? If not, Im going to order the Monroe's and give my opinion on the matter.
