Default Autocross rims

949racing.com

This site makes some nice looking rims, but they are only warranted for a year I believe. They are only 12 or 13 lbs, though.

I am planning on getting a set on the next batch run later this year for autocross.

I am looking at 15X8 for my Xa. What offset would I need if I go with 225/45 tires?

I only have the TRD lowering springs (20mm), do I need to worry about rolling the fenders because of the extra 1.5 inche width uipon turning the wheel?

I'd like to know how much as well. You just put them on. Why are you selling them already?

I'll help you out because it seems like only a few people are able to help out on here with this question. As far as 15x8, I think you should go with +25 in front and +20 in the back for a flush look. This is what I've been told for what size offset, but then I'm not going for the use, I'm just going for looks, so I'd probably run more like +20/+15.

With those offsets you may have some rear rubbing issues with 225's, at least that would be my experience with xB's. You can always do a bit of fender rolling tho.

Inside the fender well, on the brake lines, or where I would roll the fenders?

I would think with a large enough offset, I could keep the inner dimension the same and just have to worry about where the exterior facing portion of the wheel/tire will wind up? I'm gonna be keeping the thickness ratio down to 40-45. I think that would help a bit, being 15-20 mm smaller in diameter at the edge of the tire..

Yeah I meant the inside of the fender lip... lower profile def would help.

You will have to do some fender work to not rub with a 15x8, especially if you're using them for autocross rims.

I'm lowered on Tein S-techs and run +20 in the back with a 205/50/16 wheel, and I don't rub. With any weight in the back, it's darn close; another mm or two, and I'd rub under suspension compression.

Personally, if you want to stick with a 15" rim, I'd go with a 15x7 and go with 205/55/15 tires with a nice, stiff sidewall; something like the Yokohama AVS ES100 (which I have in a 16" size) or a Falken Azenis, or some of the Hankook Ventus tires.

Unless you shod the wheels with DOT slicks or R-compounds, I don't see a need for a 15x8 autocross tire. Just my opinion, though.

I also think that SCCA limits wheel width in STS/H-Stock to 7.5 inches.

Food for thought.

I just went thru a level 1 course and after showing all my mods, the consensus from the instructors was that I fall under FSP, which allows any size legal tire.

I run my xB in STS, and my mods are similar to yours:

Intake
Exhaust
Rear swaybar
Rear wheel spacers
Tein S-Tech springs
16x7 wheels
205/50/16 tires (Yokohama AVS ES100)

I would think you'd be better off in STS because people run R-compound tires in FSP, but not in STS (a street-tire class), thus giving you abetter chance (unless you're running R-compounds).

he...he...he...

Actually, since I'm just messing around this year, that's not a bad idea. Once I got a couple years down and some more parts, Maybe then I'll run with R compounds
