ok, i just need to make sure i don't have this backwards.

i just brought my tc to be inspected today. the windows are tinted. i requested a 35% (legal) tint last summer.

the inspection place called, and they said that they would NOT inspect my car because the windows are too dark. they said they have a meter and it reads 37%.

isn't 37% legal? i thought the lower the number, the darker. if MA law is 35%, then shouldn't 37% be ok?

so i picked up my car and got to witness the tint meter.

the piece of glass that the state provided this station as "legal" read "67" on their reader. my glass read "37". i insisted that MA legal is 35, as noted on the RMV website, but he would not budge from the legal sample. i wasn't gonna fight this guy that didn't know anything. and they didn't charge me or put an R on my windshield.

so, off to toyota next weekend. hopefully someone there who knows something will pass my car!

 

I go to this mom and pop joint every year. they pass anything as long as you pay the cash... I suggest you go to a similar place.

 

yeah... they are jus clueless there. pass somewhere else.

 

37% is legal. try going to another place.
