Default The new SCION.COM is UP!

www.scion.com

xB mileage is 22/28 in the 2008 standards, which is 25/30 in the old standards. Compared to the old box, which was 26/30 (manual transmission, 2008 conversion), expect 3 mpg less in mixed driving.

I only wish I could see the site...no flash 9 at work!!!

Kudos to Guitarist for noticing the new site first, and to dskinner for posting the mileage first!!

ROFL...obviously you didn't read my post.

Using the 2008 standards, that is only a 3 mpg combined diff.

55 hp, more space, and better dynamics aren't worth 3mpg? In that case, shouldn't you drive an xA, since it got about 3mpg better combined than the old xB?

I do a lot of highway driving and I often got less than 30 mpg in my xA (I cruise over 75, and average 80-85). I usually get 28-30 mpg in my tC. Considering the increase in HP, it's worth it. That and the engine doesn't have to work so hard to maintain speed (less noise and buzzing). But if you do a lot of a city driving, the older powertrain is better suited.

I forget my sarcasm can't be seen through the interweb. I got it because I like the square. I've had HP, but now I am older.

Yeah, screw scientific testing! There is no way they are more accurate than your wild a** guesses!

your right! who cars what ONWERS are actually getting when they drive the car in the real world...we will just ignore all that and go with the scientist say. In fact since i got better MPG then they say i should ill just go buy a few extra gallons to make up the difference.

If you take the middle ground of 22…and 28…whats in the middle? thats apretty good guess what someone is going to average

Ok. Lets try this again.

By your logic, cars get the average of their numbers.

New xB-> 22+28=50, 50/2=25

Old xB-> 26+30=56, 56/2=28

28-25=3 mpg difference.

You cannot compare your personal mileage on your personal route with your driving habits in the old xB to what you "think" the new xB will get.

I never said the EPA tests were accurate, as in, I will get exactly 22 around town and 28 down the highway in my new xB.

All I am saying is that a car rated 25 mpg combined will generally get about 3 mpg less than a car rated 28 mpg, even if one gets 29 and the other gets 32.

BTW, that site really doesn't have any bearing on my argument.

What he is trying to say is that with his superior driving skillz he could get 30mpg all day everyday in the new xB.

So i am a little disappointed that there is no sign of the FiveAXIS lip kit on the new site yet. :?

I just looked around on the site and now I am liking the new xB, not getting rid of my 1st gen. I showed the new one to my mom and now she is thinking of getting one when they come out.

Do you think getting the TRD air filiter vs another brand is better?
What about the TRD strut and sway bar too?
If it is as good as other brands I might as well have them do it there don't you think?

With the new EPA standards, who knows how accurate they are? The first set was thought to be an accurate guess at first, but that was before most of yall were even born....

I don't see what the big deal with YourName having an opinion on the matter is.
